An exhibition featuring 250 photos and documents on late President Ho Chi Minh opened in Hanoi on November 24, marking three decades since UNESCO ratified a resolution honouring the Vietnamese leader.
Hanoi (VNA) – An exhibition featuring 250photos and documents on late President Ho Chi Minh opened in Hanoi on November24, marking three decades since UNESCO ratified a resolution honouring theVietnamese leader.
In 1987, the 24th General Assembly of UNESCO adoptedResolution C24/18.65, which recognised that “President Ho Chi Minh, anoutstanding symbol of national affirmation, devoted his whole life to thenational liberation of the Vietnamese people, contributing to the commonstruggle of peoples for peace, national independence, democracy and socialprogress.”
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister andForeign Minister Pham Binh Minh said the UNESCO’s recognition showed theworld’s acknowledgement of an excellent Vietnamese and support for Vietnam’s strugglefor national independence.
Vietnam is committed to working closely with the internationalcommunity to fully and effectively implement the UN Charter and UNESCOConstitution as well as to realise sustainable development goals, Minh stated.
According to Nguyen Van Cong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh President Relic Sitein the Presidential Palace, among the exhibits, there are many valuable documentson the great leader of Vietnam collected and preserved by the relic site’sstaff.
The exhibition, which will last until December 10,contributes to popuarise the life, career, thought and moral example ofPresident Ho Chi Minh to domestic and foreign visitors, he added.
On the occasion, an international seminar entitled “President Ho Chi Minh withworld people” highlighted the personality and thought of the President, hisrole in the development process of human beings, and the world people’s sentimentstoward the Vietnamese leader.-VNA
A photo exhibition and seminar on late President Ho Chi Minh took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, on October 30, attracting 200 officials and guests from both nations.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
