HCM City (VNA)♒ – A series of photo exhibitions is underway in Ho Chi Minh City, capturing the spirit of the historic Spring 1975 Victory and celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025), as well as the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – 2025).

Opening on April 27, the exhibitions are staged at three key locations: Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, the junction of Nguyen Du and Dong Khoi streets, and the area opposite to Chi Lang Park in District 1. At Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, 95 photographs portray the resilience and indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese military and people during the resistance war against the US, culminating in the historic Spring 1975 Offensive and Uprising. Fifty years on, the city bearing President Ho Chi Minh’s name has affirmed its position as a special metropolis and a major centre for economy, culture, education, science, and technology, leading the way as Vietnam steps confidently into a new era of growth.
Nguyen Hue street also features 150 standout entries from the third edition of the national artistic photo contest themed "Pride in a Border Strip."

Meanwhile, the exhibition at the Nguyen Du – Dong Khoi area presents 70 images highlighting the proactive spirit of Ho Chi Minh City’s workforce — workers, officials, and laborers — embodying a bold and innovative mindset across production, scientific research, and innovation fields in the new era.
At the Chi Lang Park area, 55 photographs are displayed, reviving the images of iconic architectural works that have withstood the test of time. These include projects with a profound impact on the lives of city residents, symbolic economic structures, the first metro line, and the emergence of new urban areas, all contributing to the transformation of Ho Chi Minh City into a modern, dynamic mega-urban centre. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, said the exhibitions offer a profound opportunity to honour previous generations, inspire patriotism, and awaken the spirit of resilience and ambition in the new era. He also called for younger generations to continue nurturing national pride and contributing to the nation’s prosperity. The exhibitions will run until May 5./.
