The central coastal province of Phu Yen on January 19 put intooperation Long Phu Bridge and An Ninh Dong sea dyke in Tuy An district,with total investment of 108 billion VND (5.07 million USD).
Long Phu Bridge, 2 kilometres long and 5.5 metres wide, cost 78 billionVND (3.6 million USD), mobilised from government bonds.
Itis expected to facilitate the travelling and cargo transport ofthousands of households along O Loan lagoon, especially during floodseason, while providing a new route to the Ganh Da Dia (Cliff of StonePlates) tourist spot in An Ninh Dong commune.
Meanwhile, theAn Ninh Dong embankment has received investment of nearly 30 billion VND(1.4 million USD) from the Central budget capital under a programme toconsolidate and upgrade the sea-dyke system from Quang Ngai provinceto Kien Giang province.
The 380-metre embankment is aimedto prevent flood tides and sea waves that have caused serious erosionover the years, and in doing so protect over 300 households in nearbyPhu Hoi village.
Da Dia Cliff is located in coastal village 6, An Ninh Dong commune, Tuy An district.
The rocky cliff is about 50m wide and extends over 200m. Every stonehere is shaped like a polygon and many are stacked in a verticaldirection, forming impressive glossy columns of different heights.
Da Dia cliff is still untouched with hills, farms and village peopleliving along the roads. The unspoiled landscape, natural stone, blue seaand cool climate make it a favourite destination for both domestic andforeign visitors.-VNA
