HCM City (VNA)- Thousands of jobs are available in HCM City after the Lunar New Year holiday,said recruitment officials at the city’s job centres.
The HCM City Centre forYouth Employment Services is in charge of recruiting 2,000 labourers as perrequest by service businesses such as restaurants, hotels and securityagencies, said deputy director Nguyen Van Sang.
The centre contacted thebusinesses before the holiday to get hold of their labour demand to betterinform job-seekers, he said.
The centre also has about500 urgent job openings for fresh graduates for the accounting, sales andcustomer service positions in the fields of financial consultancy, mechanicsand electronics, Sang added.
The HCM City StudentAssistance Centre has 2,000 job openings from 300 enterprises, said Nguyen TrongHoang, head of the centre’s Department for Life Support.
Plenty of them are part-timejobs that university students can take without interfering with their classschedules, with pay rates range from 22,000-50,000 VND (1-2.2 USD) per hour, headded.
Positions such as boutiquesales, restaurant cashiers, as well as call centre agents, deliverymen andhousekeepers can start right away, he added.
Several other full-time,seasonal positions in accounting, programming and engineering are also open forfresh graduates at the pay rates of 3.5-5 million VND (154-220 USD) per month,he said.
There are also about 1,000job openings at the job centre of the HCM City Department of Labour, Invalidsand Social Affairs for the positions of cooks, cashiers, supermarket staff, andsecurity guards.

As many as 3,600 jobs were introduced at the Job Fair 2017 held on May 12 by Ho Chi Minh City International University under the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
People who are not residents of Ho Chi Minh City can now apply for civil service jobs. The criterion requiring household registration in the city for civil service applicants has been abolished.
