Bangkok (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc andhis spouse and entourage arrived in Don Mueang airport in Bangkok, Thailand, onJune 22 for attending the 34th ASEAN Summit.
Welcoming the PM at the airport was Thai Minister of DigitalEconomy and Society Pichet Durongkaveroj, Vietnamese Ambassador to ThailandPham Hai Bang, among others.
The34th ASEAN Summit, scheduled for June 22-23 in Bangkok, is themed “AdvancingPartnership for Sustainability”. According to deputy director general of theDepartment of ASEAN Affairs under the Thai Foreign Ministry Usana Berananda, 17documents to be acknowledged or endorsed this time all share the centralconcept of sustainability.
Meanwhile, director general of the Department SuriyaChindawongse said that under Thailand’s leadership, there will be a focus onbuilding a people-centred ASEAN community “that leaves no one behind and looksto the future.
As scheduled, on June 22, PM Phuc will have meetings withThai PM Parayuth Chan-ocha and Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
Later the same day, he will attend the plenary session ofthe 34th ASEAN Summit and have a number of high-level meetings.-VNA
