PM demands better ethnic policies come to life

It is due to poor coordination, resources andsupervision, PM Dung acknowledged at a working session with the twoorgans in Hanoi on July 8.

The Party and State value ethnicpolicy as a strategic issue and a major and regular task of the entirepolitical system, he confirmed.

The leader called for bettercare for ethnic groups by improving the quality of education- trainingas well as infrastructure.

The Ministry of Planning andInvestment and the Finance Ministry were asked to arrange all possibleresources, making it easier for ethnic people to fully benefit from thepolicies.

Ministries and agencies concerned will undertake specific tasks assigned by the PM, he told participants.

The Committee for Ethnic Affairs suggested the government designlong-term ethnic policies and multi-sectoral projects in the 2016-2020period.

Vietnam now has 130 policies targeting ethniccommunities, the committee reported, adding that they have helpedimprove local livelihoods and strengthen national great unity.-VNA
