Hanoi (VNA)✅ – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Israeli AmbassadorMeirav Eilon Shahar, who came to say good-bye at the end of her tenure, inHanoi on June 24, during which he lauded the diplomat’s contribution tobolstering Vietnam and Israel relations.

Vietnamalways treasures the friendly multi-faceted ties with Israel, the PM stressed,adding that he appreciated Israel’s decision to receive more Vietnamesestudents. PM Phucnoted that the two countries had signed a memorandum of understanding on settingup a joint research fund, and promoted cooperation in high technologyagriculture cooperation and security-defence industry. The twocountries have good potential for closer ties, especially inscience-technology, security-defence, agriculture, training and trade, he said,expressing his hope for efficient measures to bolster cooperation in thosefields, thereby fostering bilateral cooperation in a substantive manner. For herpart, Ambassador Meirav Eilon Shahar said that the two countries’ relationshave seen good progress, which can be seen through the success of IsraeliPresident Reuven Ruvi Rivlin’s recent State visit to Vietnam.   The ambassadorvoiced her hope that two countries will open a direct flight in the comingtime, creating favourable conditions for the implementation of joint programmesbetween Vietnamese and Israeli businesses.
