PM hopes for stronger Vietnam-Japan cooperation

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc onDecember 9 received Isao Iijima, Special Advisor to the Japanese Cabinet,during which he proposed that Vietnam and Japan should forge strongerpartnership in agriculture, labour, culture and tourism.

The PM suggested that Japan open its market wider forVietnamese strong products, including agro-fishery products, dragon fruit andlitchi.

To further foster the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategicpartnership, the PM stressed the importance of strengthening political trust betweenthe two countries through high-level visits and meetings on the sidelines ofinternational events.

PM Phuc also expressed hope for more investment from Japanesefirms, including small-and medium-sized ones, and recommended a number ofspecial measures to bolster bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

Affirming that Vietnamsees Japan as a great friendand the top important and long-term partner, the PM said that Vietnam wantsto expand cooperation with Japanese localities.

On his part, Isao Iijima expressed hope that the VietnameseGovernment will continue facilitating Japanese firms’ operation in Vietnam.

Iijima vowed to make every effort to contribute to thegrowth of ties between the two countries.-VNA
