Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc asserted that the Party and State always pay great attention tonurturing and developing young talents while addressing a ceremony to honour thenation’s 10 outstanding youths of 2017 in Hanoi on March 25.
The event was jointly held by the Ho Chi MinhCommunist Youth Union’s Central Committee and the Fund for Vietnamese YoungTalents in celebration of the 87th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi MinhYouth Union (March 26).
The honoured, who stood out among 20 nominees, wereactive in various fields from studying, scientific research, production,start-up, security and order, and defense to social activities, sports, cultureand art.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the Partyand State have promulgated many policies to attract and honour bright people aswell as prioritised financial resources to develop young talents.
The award ceremony is hoped to motivateyoungsters to make more remarkable contributions to society, promote emulationcampaigns among youths, and raise public awareness of educating and nurturingyoung generations, he said.
The PM hoped the winners will promote their creativityand apply new scientific and technological advances in the fields of theirstrength to create more social and economic values, especially when the countryis working to seize Industry 4.0 opportunities. He urged theHo Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and localities to join hands to nurture youngtalented people.
Through its 21 editions, the annual outstandingyouth award ceremony has honoured 210 excellent individuals. Another 210 othershave received the potential youth title.-VNA
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union's chapter in Ho Chi Minh City has honoured ten outstanding young citizens of the city in 2016, chosen 131 nominations, double the number of nominees last year.
The ten winners of the Vietnam Outstanding Youth Faces Award 2016 were named on March 10 following a meeting of the organizers, the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union’s Centre Committee and the Fund for Vietnam’s Young Talents.

A ceremony was held on March 19 to honour ten outstanding youths selected by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee and the Fund for Vietnamese Young Talents in 2016.
As many as 135 people have been nominated for the Vietnam Outstanding Youth Faces Award 2017, including 31 females, according to the organisers - the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Centre Committee and the Vietnam Fund for Young Talents.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government.
