Politburo disciplines Secretary of Quang Ngai provincial Party Committee
The Politburo met in Hanoi on June 16 under the chair of Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong to consider disciplinary measures against Le Viet Chu, a member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Quang Ngai provincial Party Committee.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Politburo met in Hanoi on June 16 under the chair of PartyGeneral Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong to consider disciplinarymeasures against Le Viet Chu, a member of the Party Central Committee and Secretaryof the Quang Ngai provincial Party Committee.
After scrutinizinga proposal of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission, thePolitburo noted that as member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of theQuang Ngai provincial Party Committee, Chu must bear the main responsibilityfor violations and mistakes of the provincial Party Committee’s standing board inthe tenures 2010-2015 and 2015-2020, and of the Party committee of theprovincial People’s Committee in the 2011-2016 tenure.
Thoseviolations and mistakes were related to the transfer, appointment, and rotationof officials, nomination of candidates for elections; the sending of officials,public workers and graduated students on working and studying trips; investmentin big projects using capital from non-State sources and the lease or grant ofland to enterprises without holding auctions; addition of projects to the listof medium-term public investment projects to support enterprises’ projects; andsettlement of enterprises’ requests not in accordance with the competence ofthe provincial Party Committee’s standing board and secretary.
Chu’s actsviolated the working regulations of provincial Party Committee, the Party’srules and the State’s laws, the Politburo said, stressing that those violationsand wrongdoings are serious, causing negative effects on the prestige of the localParty Committee, local administration and himself, calling for strictpunishment.
Consideringthe seriousness of the violations and their consequences, taking into account Chu’s servicerecord, and basing on the Politburo’s Regulation 02-QD/TW issued on November 15,2017, the Politburo decided to give Chu a warning as a disciplinary measure./.
The Standing Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee in the 2010-2015 tenure and the Party unit at the municipal People’s Committee in the 2011-2016 tenure have been found to make so serious violations that call for disciplinary measures.
The Party Central Committee’s Secretariat on March 20 decided to give a reprimand to the Standing Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee in the 2010-2015 tenure for its violations.
Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong has stressed that personnel preparations for the 13th National Party Congress are of extremely importance and a factor ensuring the success of the congress as well as the successful implementation of the congress’s resolutions.
