Antananarivo(VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang on November 27 had bilateral meetings with officials fromthe French Community of Belgium (Federation Wallonie-Bruxelles) and Egypt onthe sidelines of the 16th Francophone Summit.
At their meetings,President Quang and Rudy Demotte, Minister-President of the FederationWallonie-Bruxelles, expressed their joy at the flourishing development of the friendship andcooperation between Vietnam with Belgium in general and the Wallonie-Bruxellesregion in particular, especially in education, vocational training, health care,environment.
The Vietnamese leader hoped the two sides will continueworking closely on the implementation of projects within the Francophonecommunity in the coming time.
During his meeting head of the Egyptdelegation to the Summit Ibrahim Mahlab, President Quang suggested the Egyptianside support Vietnam to establish a Halal Certification Centre in Vietnam,towards making it easier for Vietnamese goods to access Islamicmarkets.
He applauded Egyptfor signing the Treaty of Amityand Cooperation in Southeast Asia(TAC) with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
For his part, Ibrahim Mahlab said Egypt and Vietnam boast potential for strongercooperation, especially in the economy, trade and investment.
He calledon Vietnamese firms to invest in a newly-constructed special logistics zonealong the Suez Canal, affirming that Egypt is willing to serve a gateway forVietnamese commodities to make inroads into the region./.
