Hanoi (VNA) – President Nguyen Xuan Phuc hostedvisiting Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP)’s CentralCommittee and President of the Lao People’s Supreme Court Viengthong Siphandonein Hanoi on May 13.

President Phuc affirmed that the Party, State and people ofVietnam always attach great importance to preserving and developing thespecial Vietnam-Laos ties, including the cooperation between the two SupremePeople’s Courts.

Viengthong Siphandone said that the Supreme People’s Courtsof Vietnam and Laos have enjoyed close collaboration. Along with supporting andsharing experience with each other in law building and personnel development, thetwo sides will continue to strengthen cooperation in improving the professionalquality for Lao judges, she said.

Lauding the effective cooperation between the two courtsystems over the years, President Phuc underlined the significance of judicialreform in national construction and development in each country.

He noted that Vietnam is building a strategy to build andcomplete a law-governed socialist State towards 2023 with a vision to 2045,which comprises many contents related to improving the operational efficiencyof the court system.

Recently, the Supreme People’s Court has been leading inimplementing the judicial reform strategy, while making court procedures more openand transparent, enhancing the capacity of judges and improving the material conditions of courts from thecentral to local levels, and strengthening international cooperation andintegration.

He said that Vietnam is willing to cooperate and shareexperience with Laos in both theoretical and practical aspects for higherefficiency in court activities in both countries.

The State leader expressed his belief that the partnershipbetween the two court systems will bring about specific benefits and makepositive contributions to the development in each country as well as the growthof bilateral ties./.
