Hanoi (VNA) – President Vo Van Thuongcommended the continued, meaningful contributions of the Vietnam Chamber ofCommerce and Industry (VCCI) to national construction and development whileaddressing a ceremony in Hanoi on April 26 marking its 60th anniversary.
The Chamber has worked hard to support Vietnamesebusinesses and offered consultations to the Party and the State on policy making and international integration, the President said.
He asked the Chamber to raise its capacity andovercome limitations and shortcomings to better perform its role and tasks,thus contributing more to national economic development.
The VCCI and the business circle should make greaterefforts to promote the Vietnamese brand in the international market, and expandcooperation with international partners for mutual successes, Thuong suggested.
Each businessperson should be well aware of their rolein the great national unity bloc, and strengthen solidarity and collaborationwith workers, farmers, and intellectuals, he said, noting that the present difficultiesshould be opportunities for enterprises and businesspeople to grow stronger.

The VCCI will continue with policy activities andplay a more active role in perfecting the institutional environment to nurtureand develop Vietnamese businesspeople and enterprises, he said.
It will further support businesspeople andenterprises, and build a code of ethics for them and business culture, helpingthem position themselves in the international business community, Cong said.
On this occasion, the VCCI made public a council ofVietnam’s leading businesses with 21 members, which will work to boost thedevelopment of big Vietnamese firms, expand cooperation, both domestically andinternationally, and uphold the role of leading enterprises in the developmentof sectors and agencies, and in guiding small-and medium-sized enterprises./.
