President Tran Dai Quang commemorated in Spain, Venezuela

The Vietnamese community in Spain as well as more than 60 Spanish officials and friends have paid homage to President Tran Dai Quang at the Vietnamese Embassy in Madrid.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese community in Spain as well as more than 60 Spanishofficials and friends have paid homage to President Tran Dai Quang at theVietnamese Embassy in Madrid.

In the two days ofopening the funeral books from September 26-27, the embassy received manymessages of condolences from organisations and individuals as well asdiplomatic representatives of different countries in Spain over the passingaway of the leader.

Spanish King Felipe VIalso extended his condolences to Vietnam over the loss.

Writing on the funeralbook, Ambassador to Spain Ngo Tien Dung highlighted contributions of PresidentTran Dai Quang in different positions.

“The image of a Presidentwho devoted his whole life for the national reform, poverty reduction,sustainable development and international integration will be remembered byVietnamese people,” he stated.

The Vietnamese Embassyin Venezuela also held a solemn ceremony and opened a funeral bookcommemorating President Tran Dai Quang.

In his speech at theceremony, Ambassador Dao Thanh Chung said that President Tran Dai Quang was anexcellent leader who made great sacrifices for the nation as well as importantcontributions to the national construction and development, a leader trusted byinternational friends and devoted to the growth of ties between Vietnam andother countries in the world.

The passing away ofthe President is a great loss of Vietnam and the international community, headded.

All the participantsat the ceremony spent a minute of silent in memory of President Tran Dai Quang.

Venezuelan andinternational fiends in the country, as well as many delegations of localofficials, political and social organisations, including a high-rankingdelegation of Venezuela led by Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopes came tothe embassy to pay tribute to the leader and wrote on the funeral book.

After learning aboutthe leader’s death, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez and ForeignMinister Jorge Arreaza, through Ambassador Chung, conveyed their deep condolencesto the Party, Government and people of Vietnam over the loss.-VNA
