Hanoi (VNA) – State PresidentNguyen Xuan Phuc has delivered a message marking the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (June 28, 2001 – 2021).
In the message, he warmly greeted Vietnamese families in thecountry and abroad, affirming that Vietnam Family Day is to honour family values, and forVietnamese expatriates to remember their home country and loved ones at home.
Families are a key part of society and a firm foundation ofthe nation’s strength from the past to the present, he stated. The Party, Stateand people always respect and are grateful to those who have contributed to andsacrificed for the Fatherland, Phuc said.
He said amid the COVID-19 pandemic, families have been asource of encouragement for frontline military and medical personnel as well as the donors and contributors to the nation’srelated prevention and control work.
The President took the occasion to commend all sectors,localities, organisations and individuals across the country, and overseasVietnamese communities for their contributions to building happy, progressive,and sustainable Vietnamese families.
He also requested Party committees and authorities at levels and localities effectivelyimplement policies of the Party and State on family development, particularlyin nurturing the younger generation, caring for the elderly and beneficiariesof social welfare, curbing domestic violence and inequality, and protecting vulnerablegroups in society./.
