Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on May 24 hosted a reception forIranian Ambassador to Vietnam Saleh Adibi, during which he called on Iran tomake it easy for Vietnamese firms to expand investment in the Islamic nation.
The Vietnamese Government leader expressedhis joy at the fine development of the Vietnam-Iran relations, and hailedsocio-economic achievements of Iran over the past time.
He said he hopes the ambassador will contribute to further strengthening all-aroundties between the two countries.
For his part, Saleh Adibi appreciated the Vietnamese Government’s positive reformsin many fields, especially in trade and investment, saying that his countrywishes to further boost the traditional friendship between the two nations.
To continuously foster economic, trade and investment links with Vietnam, asmany as 30 Iranian enterprises recently made a market study trip to Vietnam,and worked with representatives from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce andIndustry to enquire about investment and business opportunities in theSoutheast Asian nation, the diplomat revealed.
He called for cooperation between the two countries in banking with theestablishment of a joint committee to boost this link, adding that he hopes two-waytrade will hit 2 billion USD by 2020.
The ambassador also suggested the two sides step up collaboration in tourism,science, technology and agriculture.
Agreeing with the suggestion of the diplomat, PM Phuc said the two nations needto continue boosting the exchange of all-level visits, thus enhancing thepolitical and diplomatic ties, and early realising the 2-billion-USD trade targetby 2020.
He hoped for stronger cooperation between the two nations in agriculture, oiland gas.
In the upcoming meetingof the Vietnam-Iran Inter-governmental Committee, Vietnam will propose strongmeasures to promote bilateral trade and investment links, facilitating banks’participation in the process, he said.
He also asked for coordination between the two countries’ authorised agencies inimproving administrative procedures to facilitate the travel of their tourists.-VNA
