Phnom Penh (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc held talks with his Lao counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith on November 23 on the sideline of the ninth Summit of Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) DevelopmentTriangle Area in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
At the meeting, Phuc congratulatedthe Lao Prime Minister on Laos’ achievements in domestic and external affairsthis year.
Thongloun Sisoulith saidhe is pleased with the effective partnership between Laos and Vietnam,particularly in trade, investment, energy and transport.
He hailed the significanceof the upcoming visit to Laos of General Secretary of the Vietnam CommunistParty Nguyen Phu Trong, saying it will help bring the two countries’ traditionalfriendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation to new heights.
Both sides agreed toincrease delegation exchanges and meetings of high-ranking officials, makethorough preparation for the upcoming 39th session of the Vietnam-Laostrans-governmental committee, and implement joint projects for mutual benefits.
They pledged to boostefforts to carry out the agreement on collaboration between the two governmentsin 2016, in order to lay the groundwork for the implementation of Vietnam-Laos cooperationagreement for 2016-2020.
The same day, PrimeMinister Phuc received representatives from the association of Vietnameseexpatriates in Siem Reap.

Phuc said during a recentmeeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, he requested the CambodianGovernment to facilitate Vietnamese expats in securing their legal status.
He noted that the issuewill continue to be on the agenda of upcoming meetings between Vietnamese andCambodian senior officials.
