Hanoi (VNA) – The image recognition of Hanoi among the globalaudience of the US’s Cable News Network (CNN) has improved, especially onsocial networks, according to CNN Senior Vice President for Asia-Pacific SunitaRajan.
Rajan had a working session in Hanoi onDecember 5 with Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chungon the outcomes of the two sides’ cooperation and their plans moving forward.
Stressing the achievements in bilateralcooperation in the past two years, she voiced her hope to continue working withVietnam, particularly in promoting major events like the Formula One (F1) racein 2020 and the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2021.
Appreciating the efficiency of bilateralcollaboration, Chung said the image of Hanoi in particular and Vietnam ingeneral has been introduced to CNN viewers across the world.
Through the programme, Hanoi has learnt fromthe network, particularly in analysing data for promotion programmes.
Hanoi will maintain cooperation with CNN,and hopes to receive its support in training communications officials of theDepartments of Information and Communications, and Culture, Sports and Tourism,as well as in sharing information about audience analysis to help the city devisean effective promotion plan, Chung added.
Rajan agreed with the city leader’sproposals and affirmed she would maintain support for the Vietnamese capital.
CNN is an American cable and satellitetelevision channel available in more than 210 countries and territories.
This year, CNN broadcast three 30-secondpromotion clips focusing on Hanoi, namely “Hanoi – Heart of Vietnam”, “Hanoi –Cradle of Heritage” and “Hanoi – History, Culture and People”, along with aspecial programme titled “Destination Hanoi”.
As of the end of September 2018, Hanoiwelcomed nearly 20 million tourists, including 4.45 million foreigners.
