Public science – technology network plan approved

The Prime Minister has approved a plan to develop the network of public science-technology organisations by 2020, with a vision through 2030.

Hanoi (VNA) –The Prime Minister ha💛s approved a plan to develop the network of public science-technology or𓂃ganisations by 2020, with a vision through 2030. 

Accordingly, investment will focus on developing 15 organisations that meet international and regional standards by 2020 and 30 by 2030. 
By 2020, 55 percent of the research staff will have at least acquired master’s degrees. Of these, at least 20 percent will have PhDs. The figures are expected to reach 70 percent and 30 percent, respectively by 2030. 
From 2016 to 2020, the plan aims to develop the network of organisations that research strategy, policy and technology-economic norms, as well as for the application and services of science and technology under the central agencies, ministries, ministerial level bodies and others.  The plan also noted other targets to be achieved, including restructuring and strengthening the management and financial autonomy among science and technology organisations at all levels.-VNA

PM calls for coop🎃eration with𝓡 Sweden in nuclear energy technology

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
