The Ministry of Public Security said the victims were from HaiPhong, Hai Duong, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Thua Thien – Hue.
The ministry expressed profound condolences to families of thevictims, and affirmed that Vietnamese competent agencies are working closely withthe UK authorities to conduct citizen protection measures and promptly investigatethe case.
The Vietnamese Embassy in the UK also issued a statementexpressing deep sorrow at the news and extended sympathy to the victims’families.
The embassy pledged to coordinate with the Governmentdelegation now working in the UK and relevant agencies of both Vietnam and theUK to help the families take the victims’ remains home at the earliestpossible.

Two separate groups of public security and foreign affairs officials departed for the United Kingdom at the weekend, following news that all victims in the Essex lorry tragedy were believed to be Vietnamese.
National Assembly (NA) General Secretary Nguyen Hanh Phuc on November 5 delivered an initial report to deputies on Vietnam’s response to issues related to Vietnamese victims in the recent lorry tragedy in Essex, the UK.
