Quang Ninh implements measures to attract more visitors this year
The northeastern province of Quang Ninh has been implementing measures to attract more visitors as it eyes to accommodate 19 million tourists this year, two million higher more than the target set previously.

Quang Ninh (VNA) 𝄹– The northeastern province of Quang Ninh has been implementing measures to attract more visitors as it eyes to accommodate 19 million tourists this year, two million higher more than the target set previously.
According to the province’s Department of Tourism, in the past eight months, the province welcomed over 14.7 million tourists and raked in over VND 34.338 trillion VND (1.38 billion USD) in tourism revenue, 43% higher than that of the same period last year.
Early this month, the provincial People's Committee issued a plan on solutions to attract an additional 2 million tourists in 2024. Accordingly, it focuses on developing domestic and international tourism markets, attracting visitors from Northeast Asia, China, Europe, and America, and developing new markets such as India, the Middle East, Russia, and Australia.
Quang Ninh will organised 92 programmes, events, and activities to stimulate tourism in the remaining months of 2024, including 17 international, national and provincial activities and 76 local programmes.
In addition, the province opens sea tourism routes from Beihai City, Guangxi and Guangzhou City, China to Ha Long City.
Starting from October, there will be two flights weekly connecting the province with China’s Wuxi and Jiangsu.
The province will also continue to connect with tourism businesses to open other international tourism routes from China and the Republic of Korea. It also eyes more domestic flight routes that connect it with southern localities.
Quang Ninh have invited Chinese tourism businesses to join field trips to survey tourism routes via local Mong cai international border gate and Hoanh Mo border gate as well as the Lao Cai international border gate in the northern province of Lao Cai.
Quang Ninh also conducted a survey for tourism businesses from India.
The province will organise increase tourism promotion activities on online platforms and in other localities, including Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, and Thai Nguyen./.
