Quang Ninh to launch campaign to clean up Ha Long Bay
The northeastern province of Quang Ninh will initiate a three-day clean-up campaign for the storm-battered Ha Long Bay, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Cao Tuong Huy told local tourism agencies and business at a meeting on September 13.

Quang Ninh (VNA) – The northeastern province of Quang Ninh will initiate a three-day clean-up campaign for the storm-battered Ha Long Bay, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Cao Tuong Huy told local tourism agencies and business at a meeting on September 13.
The leader urged relevant departments and agencies to immediately implement the campaign, focusing on collecting waste, restoring infrastructure, and salvaging sunken boats.
Additionally, he stressed the need for strict management of pricing, ensuring the provision of food and essential supplies, and the resumption of tourism activities in areas of the bay that are deemed safe. The promotion of the provincial tourism potential and strengths, meanwhile, must be intensified.
Quang Ninh will propose to the Government policies to support affected businesses, including debt rescheduling, interest rate reduction, and new loans, he affirmed. The province will also request reductions in electricity rates, taxes, and insurance to support the group.
Participating enterprises requested that the provincial administration provide assistance for post-storm recovery, continue tourism promotion programmes, review and open new tourist sites to alleviate pressure on traditional areas, and implement policies for debt rescheduling and social insurance payment deferrals.
