Hanoi (VNA) – A refresher course for the cadres nominated for membership of the 14th-tenure Party Central Committee was opened in Hanoi on August 28 in the presence of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam.

The course, the second held by the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, engages 50 trainees who will learn and discuss 33 topics covering nationally important affairs in the current period, including the core issues of the Party’s ideological and theoretical foundation; the building of the Party, the State, and the political system; economic, cultural, and social development; national defence, security, and external relations; and the science of leadership and management in the new context.

General Secretary and President Lam noted that in every period of the revolution, the Party always pays special attention to personnel affairs, and personnel training is identified as the core of all core tasks in the Party building. He cited late President Ho Chi Minh as saying that personnel and personnel affairs are a critically issue and the decisive factor of every work, cadres form the root of all work, so training personnel is a root task of the Party.

Since the 11th National Party Congress, refresher courses for the cadres nominated for strategic-level positions and membership of the Party Central Committee have been continuously reformed and professionalised.

How to soon achieve the strategic goals for the centenary of the Party in 2030 and the 100th founding anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in 2045 depends largely on the quality of human resources, firstly the strategic-level personnel, who must receive training, reform their mindset, vision and work methodology, and be eligible in terms of political virtues, morality, lifestyle, capacity, and prestige to fulfill tasks in the new period, according to the leader.

Lam said the refresher course reflects the high sense of responsibility and strategic vision of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Party Central Committee's Secretariat towards the training of strategic-level cadres for the Party.

𓆏 He expressed his belief that the course will fulfill all the set targets and tasks./.
