Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s tour to Europe from June 5 to 14 served as a solid foundation and source of inspiration for Vietnam to continue realising its national development goals and attracting international resources in the new era.
PM Pham Minh Chinh expressed his impression of the hamornious design of the centre, which integrates nature and human presence while combining modern architecture with minimalist design principles that reflect the essence of Arvo Pärt's music.
The two sides underlined the need to soon launch a political consultation mechanism between the ministries, carry out policy dialogue, and boost cooperation in information technology so as to develop modern digital diplomacy.
The Vietnamese Government, PM Chinh said, will provide all necessary support in accordance with the law to ensure effective and sustainable operations by foreign investors, including those from Estonia.
PM Michal emphasised that PM Chinh's visit was a historic trip as this was the first time a high-ranking Vietnamese leader has visited Estonia since the two nations established diplomatic relations in 1992, considering this a new impetus for the two sides to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in many other areas where both sides have strengths and needs.
The centre also showcases technologies, hosts dialogues and consultations, and facilitates experience-sharing and partnership-building. It has welcomed delegations from over 150 countries who came to learn from the e-Estonia model.
The two sides concurred to promote dialogue mechanisms and regular delegation exchanges, enhance information and experience sharing across various sectors, including legislation. They also consented to support each other at inter-parliamentary forums.
PM Pham Minh Chinh proposed collaboration with Tallinn’s port authorities, urging partnerships in technology, infrastructure investment, and expertise sharing to advance Vietnam’s port system in the spirit of mutual benefits.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s upcoming trip to France, Sweden, Estonia underscores Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralism, diversification, proactive and effective global integration, as outlined at the 13th National Party Congress.
Vietnam views Estonia not only as a partner in the Baltic region, but also as a key gateway to access the EU market and its technology edge. Conversely, Estonia can see Vietnam as a dynamic partner, a vast market and a strategic gateway to Southeast Asia.
On the back of the sound traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation, PM Chinh’s official visit to Estonia continues to affirm Vietnam’s consistent policy of valuing and seeking to strengthen relations with European nations, including Estonia.
The trip is made at the invitation of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and President of Frannce Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal, and Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson.
Vietnam and Estonia agreed to maintain regular dialogue mechanisms, increase information exchange, and strengthen cooperation in priority areas such as digital transformation, education, innovation, cybersecurity, and sustainable development.
