Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi wants to enhance cooperation with Estonia to buildinfrastructure for smart city development, said Chairman of the municipalPeople’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

Hosting a reception for Estonian DeputyMinister of Foreign Affairs Andres Rundu in Hanoi on March 4, Chung said thatas one of the 17 largest capitals in the world, Hanoi took the lead in FDIattraction across the country in 2018. The city’s average growth in the pasteight years stood at 7.85 percent.

He noted that transport infrastructure development, high-quality humanresources training and administrative reform are three breakthroughs in thecity’s development strategy by 2020.

In the past time, information technology has been considered a tool to boost administrativereform, he said, adding that the city has finished developing its own databasecontaining information of 7.5 million residents.

The Estonian guest, for his part, expressedhis impression on Vietnam’s fast economic growth in the Southeast Asian region.

He hoped that bilateral collaboration will further develop in a more effectiveand practical manner.

Holding considerable strengths in information technology, public transport anddigitalisation, Estonia stands ready to share experience with Vietnam and Hanoiin outlining solutions to e-Government and smart city development, headded.-VNA
