Hanoi (VNA) – The golden timefor Vietnam to promote its rice brand will come ⛦once the country is able topromptly expand production of ST25 rice in line with a safe process, accordingto rice exporters.
Opportunities will be opened up for Vietnameserice to further access the European market as the EU-Vietnam Free TradeAgreement (EVFTA) became effective at the beginning of August. The rice variety ST25 won the first prizein the 2019 World’s Best Rice Contest and is favoured by domestic consumers. Rice quotas for Vietnam under the EVFTA are expected to push Vietnam’s rice exports up from the second half of this year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).
