Hanoi (VNA) – TheTrade Ministry of the Republicof Korea (RoK) on September 30 said that it is reviewing joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) in line with its goal to play aleading role in trade in the region.
RoK Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo said during ameeting with local trade experts that the country is considered an idealpartner for the CPTPP in terms of its competitiveness in different industries andtechnologies.
The CPTPPis the renegotiated version of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) led by the US under President Barack Obama but abandoned by his successor,Donald Trump.
Eleven countries, including Japan, are currently participating inthe trade deal./.
