Hanoi (VNA)☂ – The Russia-Indonesia Business Council (RIBC) is seeking to draw Indonesian tourists to Russia and vice versa in 2016 and the following years to propel the bilateral economic relations forward.

The two countries defined tourism as a key matter at their annual business forum held in Jakarta recently with the attendance of 250 representatives from Indonesian and Russian companies.
RIBC CEO Mikhail Kuritsyn said 100,000 Russian tourists are forecast to visit Indonesia in the coming years, while 18,000 Indonesian holidaymakers are expected to travel to Russia in 2016 alone.
Direct flights between Jakarta and Moscow will be initial steps to boost bilateral tourism cooperation, he said, adding that the national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia is due to open the Indonesia – Moscow route by the second quarter of 2017. RIBC is a non-governmental organisation, which was established to connect businesses of the two countries and develop win-win relations in trade, economy, investment and science.-VNA
