Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam, noted that since February 2020, Russia has been sending language teachers to Vietnamese schools through the "Russian Teachers Abroad" initiative. This initiative has received positive feedback from educational institutions in Vietnam, which praise the professionalism, enthusiasm, and effectiveness of the programme. Many schools have expressed interest in hosting more Russian teachers in the future. Phuc said that currently, Russian is taught primarily at specialised high schools for Russian language, foreign language universities, and military schools. It is one of the seven foreign languages taught at general education schools across Vietnam. To further promote Russian language education, the Pushkin Institute, in partnership with the Russian Language Institute, has organised the International Russian Language Olympiad for the past two years. This competition has been widely embraced by students and teachers nationwide. Phuc also expressed support for establishing Russian schools in Vietnam. These institutions, invested by the Russian Government, would follow Russian curricula and adhere to Vietnam’s legal regulations.
He thanked the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education for its ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in higher education.

Vietnam hopes the two countries will prioritise scholarships for the training of staff and lecturers at higher education institutions, expand research collaboration, and further enhance educational partnerships. At the meeting, Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, and the MoET discussed the signing of an agreement between the two Governments to establish the Pushkin Centre, the organisation of a forum for university rectors from their countries, and further cooperation in student and lecturer exchanges.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration in education and training, helping to further reinforce the long-standing relationship between Vietnam and Russia./.
