Russia’s Federal Council leader begins official visit to Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) –Chairwoman of Russia’s Federal Council Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko is leadinga high-ranking delegation on an official visit to Vietnam from February 20 –22.
The trip is made at the invitation of Chairwomanof Vietnam’s National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
She used to tour Vietnam in 2005 as Governor ofSaint Petersburg and in 2012 as Chairwoman of Russia’s Federal Council.
Vietnam and Russia, which was then the SovietUnion, set up diplomatic relations on January 30, 1950.
They elevated their ties to a strategicpartnership in 2001 and to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2012.
In the first 11 months of 2016, two-way tradereached 3.5 billion USD, a rise of 16.4 percent year on year. The two countriesare striving to raise the figure to 10 billion USD by 2020. - VNA

Under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the CPV, President Cuong said, the press has been a steadfast force on the ideological and cultural front, rallying the masses to pursue national aspirations.
NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed the need to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence and smart teaching equipment, innovate teaching and assessment methods, and further improve the quality of formal education.
He also pledged that the NA will promote its ongoing supervision, making sure that every promise must lead to results, and every commitment must bring about real changes.
