Hanoi (VNA) – The Security World Conference and Expo 2017 was held in Hanoi onApril 4 with the aim to ensure information and network security in the fourthIndustrial Revolution.

Being heldin Vietnam for 11 consecutive years since 2007, Security World has gained itsrecognition as a prestigious forum on information security. This year, SecurityWorld 2017 will bring in orientation strategies, best practice sharing andup-to-date information relating to security risks and threats, new securityregulations.

DeputyMinister of Public Security Bui Van Nam said that the fourth IndustrialRevolution with strong development in science and technology is bringing bigopportunities for Vietnam. However, it also poses danger to the country’snetwork security.

According tothe Vietnam Centre for Emergency Response Team (VNCERT), more than 134,000network security-related incidents occurred in Vietnam in 2016, a four-foldrise compared with the previous year.

Therefore,Nam asked offices, organisations, businesses and individuals to improveawareness and skills to ensure network security, and cooperate closely withforeign groups and countries to tackle incidents when they occur.

At theevent, participants shared updates on information security and introducedadvanced security solutions with the hope to help the Vietnamese government,organisations and enterprises strengthen their security supervision and wellrespond to increasingly complicated risks.-VNA

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
