Kuala Lumpur (VNA)🐬 - The Semicon Southeast Asia 2024, an exposition for the electronics industry in the region, kicked off in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 28.

Themed “Boosting Agility and Resiliency of the Global Electronics Supply Chain”, the three-day event will delve into critical areas driving the semiconductor industry, including sustainability, smart manufacturing and workforce development.
In his opening speech, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the Malaysian Government envisions positioning Malaysia as a global hub for semiconductor research and development (R&D), fostering an ecosystem that integrates world-renowned universities, corporate R&D facilities, and internationally acclaimed centres of excellence. He also announced the National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS) with three phases, focusing on integrated circuit design, advanced packaging and manufacturing equipment. The event features the participation of over 500 companies and more than 1,000 booths, which is double that from the previous edition. This year's event focuses on electronics and electrical (E&E), unmanned aerial vehicles, electric/autonomous vehicles, and medical technology./.
