Seminar seeks to collect opinions on nationality-related policies
The Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the National Assembly (NA)’s Committee for External Relations, on July 12 organised a seminar on legal regulations related to nationality for the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic. It aims to review and collect their opinions, thereby proposing solutions to deal with their problems.
Hanoi (VNA) – The Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the NationalAssembly (NA)’s Committee for External Relations, on July 12 organised a seminar on legalregulations related to nationality for the Vietnamese community in the CzechRepublic. It aims to review and collect their opinions, therebyproposing solutions to deal with their problems.
Addressing the event, Nguyen Manh Tien, vice chairman of NA’s committee, said that the Party and State always pay attention to overseas Vietnamese affairs, and the issuance of a supervisory programme on the implementation of legalregulations to foreigners in both online and face-to-face forms is a manifestation of the sentiment.
It seeks to gather ideas and aspirations of overseas Vietnamese, he said, adding that this will serve as the foundation for setting forth solutions to settle their enquiries on nationality, investment, production and business.
Tien emphasised that these activities contribute to affirming that overseasVietnamese are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese community and animportant resource contributing to thedevelopment of the country.
Thai Xuan Dung, Vietnamese ambassador to the Czech Republic, said there are 30,000 Czech of the Vietnamese origin and some people with dualcitizenship among the 90,000-strong Vietnamese community in the country.

In response to the call of the President, the Prime Minister, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and the Ministry of Foreign Affair, the Vietnamese community in Russia has raised 10 million rubles (nearly 150,000 USD) to support the country’s COVID-19 vaccine fund, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi said on August 20.

The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
