New Delhi (VNA) –ജ VisitingSingaporean Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan held talks withhis Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi, India on October 31.

The talks formed part of the India-SingaporeJoint Ministerial Committee. The two sides discussed a wide range of bilateralissues of shared interests and concerns. The two officials reviewed upcominghigh-level exchanges and the celebration of the 50th anniversary of theAssociation of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and 25 years of the ASEAN-Indiadialogue partnership. They also discussed cooperation in tourism and culture,connectivity and other aspects of the partnership. Besides, the ministers exchangedviews on regional and multilateral issues of mutual concerns, includingcooperation in the United Nations and international organisations. Balakrishnan is due to visit Guwahaticity in India’s Assam state on November 1. He will meet with Assam ChiefMinister Sarbanda Sonawal and witness the signing ceremony of the agreementsrelated to the North East Skills Centre (NESC) in Guwahati. Singapore and India will hold a numberof mutual visits at ministerial level this month. Indian Minister of Commerceand Industry Suresh Prabhu and Minister of Finance Arun Jaitley will visitSingapore from November 13-15. Meanwhile, Singaporean Minister forTrade and Industry S Israwan is scheduled to visit Andhra Pradesh state and NewDelhi from November 16. Minister for Defence Ng Eng Heng will tour New Delhi fromNovember 27-29.-VNA
