Hanoi (VNA) – The trilateral air exercise among Sꦕingapore, Thailand and the US named “Cope Tiger” concluded at Korat Air Base in Thailand, said Singapore’s Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) on March 18.

The exercise “Cope Tiger”, the 22nd of its kind comprised a command post exercise at Changi Naval Base in Singapore from Dec 8 to 11, 2015, and an air training exercise conducted at Korat Air Base in Thailand from Mar 7 to 18, 2016.
According to the MINDEF, this year’s exercise involved 87 aircraft, 48 ground-based air defence systems and about 2,000 personnel from the three countries.
Singapore Air Force’s Heron-1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Multi-Mission Radar also participated in the exercise series for the first time. Cope Tiger has been held annually since 1994. The event aims to enhance professionalism and collaboration among the participating forces while promoting closer rapport and mutual understanding among their personnel.-VNA
