Hanoi (VNA) – Singapore plans to buildmore 11 dormitories for 60,000 migrant workers by the end of this year.

National Development Minister Lawrence Wong onJune 1 said the country will continue upgrading and building new dormitoriesover the next few years to house up to 100,000 workers.

Currently, Singapore is home to 323,000 foreignworkers staying in 43 dormitories.

As of March 2020, Singapore counted 720,800migrant workers, including 287,800 working in the field of construction and theremainders are active in navigation, processing and services./.
