Bangkok (VNA) – Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong made a call to his Thai counterpart Srettha Thavisin on May 28 to express his appreciation for the kingdom’s assistance in helping those on board the turbulence-hit Singapore Airlines Flight SQ321, which was forced to make an emergency landing in Bangkok last week.
As cited by the Channel News Asia, in a post on X, Srettha said: "I reiterated our readiness to provide assistance and support to those still recuperating in Thailand."
He also said he had extended an invitation to Wong to pay an official visit to Thailand during their call.
The Boeing 777-300ER jet, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crewmembers, was forced to divert to Bangkok towards the tail end of its London-Singapore route after encountering severe turbulence.
