Solomon Islands wants to further boost partnership and cooperation with Vietnam in fields of mutual concern.
Solomon Islands Governor-General Frank Kabui made the affirmation at arecent reception for Vietnamese Ambassador Hoang Vinh Thanh, who wasthere to present a letter of credential.
The Governor General spoke highly of Vietnam ’s achievements in the country’s renewal process.
The Vietnamese Ambassador was also received by Solomon Islands’ PrimeMinister, Darcy Lilo, and Foreign Minister, Clay Forau Soalaoi, onNovember 15 and 16.
At the receptions, the two sidesstressed to continue collaboration at multilateral forums andinternational organisations, such as the UN, IMF, WB and ADB.
They also exchanged views on cooperation opportunities in rice and wood production, fishery and tourism. Vietnam and Solomon Islands established their diplomatic ties in 1996.-VNA
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
