Southeastern region to see new chances to develop further

Hanoi (VNA) – A conference announcing the Government’s actionprogramme to implement the Politburo’s resolution on boosting socio-economic developmentand ensuring defence and security of the southeastern region by 2030, with a visionto 2045, will be held on November 26.
The conference will take place in Vung Tau city, Ba Ria-VungTau province, under the chair of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. It is expectedto draw the participation of 500 delegates.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuongsaid that the conference is of great significance to the development of the region,opening up more new opportunities for it to develop further and contribute moreto the nation’s growth.
The region owns a strong and dynamic privateeconomic sector with the largest number of enterprises in the country. It alsoattracts the largest amount of foreign direct investment (FDI), accounting for41.1% of the country’s total.
The region comprises Ho Chi Minh City, and Ba Ria – VungTau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces./.
Planning in the southeastern region for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050, will be conducted with the aim of developing it into a dynamic region that takes the lead in growth model reform.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed the need to take a joint mechanism managing the development of the southeastern region and the southern key economic region in general while chairing a conference in Ho Chi Minh City on July 9.
