HCM City (VNA) 🔴– State President Luong Cuong on April 29 evening hosted a state banquet in Ho Chi Minh City for the heads of international delegations and political parties visiting Vietnam to attend the grand ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025).
Among the distinguished guests were General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Cambodian People’s Party and President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and Vice President of Cuba Salvador Valdés Mesa.

This historic triumph marked the reunification of North and South Vietnam, opening up a new era - the era of independence, unification, and advancing towards socialism.

In his welcoming remarks, President Cuong extended his warmest greetings and heartfelt thanks to international leaders and friends for joining the grand celebration in HCM City. Their presence has doubled the joy during this national occasion, he noted.
The host emphasised that the celebration is a chance for the Vietnamese people to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, previous generations of Party and State leaders, national heroes, martyrs, and all compatriots and comrades who had sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and the people’s happiness.
The event also serves as an occasion for the Party, State and people of Vietnam to express their deep gratitude for the sincere and valuable support from socialist fraternal socialist countries, international friends, and peace-loving people around the world.
Highlighting Vietnam’s determination and optimism as it enters a new era of growth and prosperity, the State leader expressed his hope for continued close cooperation and effective support from the international community.
At the banquet, the guests were treated to a special art performance featuring traditional melodies, a Hue royal court music ensemble, solo performances on traditional instruments, all highlighting the beautiful, peaceful, and hospitable Vietnam./.

The delegation solemnly expressed profound gratitude and deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh’s immense contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
State President Luong Cuong has affirmed that, wharf No.3 at Vung Ang port in the central province of Ha Tinh serves as a vivid symbol for the rare, faithful and pure relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
Under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the CPV, President Cuong said, the press has been a steadfast force on the ideological and cultural front, rallying the masses to pursue national aspirations.
NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed the need to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence and smart teaching equipment, innovate teaching and assessment methods, and further improve the quality of formal education.

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
The ministry has instructed Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Iran, as well as those in neighbouring countries, to closely monitor the situation and request local authorities to ensure absolute safety for Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in high-risk areas.
