Lang Son (VNA)🌜 – State President Luong Cuong visited and worked with the Party Committee of Lang Son on February 5, during which he urged the northern border province to identify specific and feasible solutions to overcome bottlenecks and obstacles to development and mobilise maximum resources.

Emphasising that Lang Son has tremendous potential, particularly thanks to its very favourable location, directly adjacent to the massive market of China, the President said this presents a great opportunity to boost trade and investment, not only for the province but for the entire country. Additionally, the province boats great potential in tourism and agriculture, with many locally distinctive agricultural products. He urged the province to focus on leading and preparing necessary conditions to ensure the successful organisation of Party congresses at all levels and the provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term; and steering the effective implementation of the review of Resolution 18-NQ/TW on restructuring the political system, as directed by the Politburo, the Secretariat, and Party General Secretary To Lam.
Noting that Lang Son needs to focus on thoroughly and deeply assessing its situation, opportunities, and challenges to determine the direction for development, Cuong emphasised the importance of bringing into full play the province's strengths, such as its border economy, sustainable tourism, and smart agriculture linked to export processing industries. Particularly, he encouraged the promotion of smart agriculture models that apply high technology, enhance local and unique characteristics, improve quality, and elevate the branding of agricultural products. The State leader also highlighted the importance of linking socio-economic development with strengthening the capacity and combat readiness of local Party committees and authorities. He stressed the need to build streamlined, strong political organisations; effectively carry out national defence, security, and foreign affairs tasks; and maintain a peaceful and stable environment for the country’s development.
Lang Son was also requested to promote exchanges and cooperation with Chinese localities, work together to create a robust economic corridor along the border, and foster an open, cooperative, trustworthy, and effective economic space that benefits both sides. The President expressed his confidence that, with the spirit of unity and promoting the achievements made so far, the Party organisation, authorities, armed forces, and people of all ethnic groups in Lang Son will certainly gain significant accomplishments in 2025, laying the foundation for stronger development in the years ahead./.
