Steering committee on smuggling prevention sets out tasks

Speakingat the event, Chief of the Standing Office of the committee Le Thanh Hai said inthe past nine months, prices of goods were basically stable. Online sales and express delivery and postal services were mostly chosen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Smuggling, counterfeits and trade frauds remained complicated in several key areas, especially in the productionof medical supplies and equipment for the fight against the pandemic. As of the end of September, competent agencies nationwide authorities discovered over100,000 violation cases, seized over 7.5 trillion VND for the State budget,and launched criminal proceedings against 2,148 persons in 1,615 cases.
In his conclusion,permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh acknowledged achievements in thefight against smuggling, trade frauds and counterfeits in the past nine months.

Minh suggested agenciesand units seriously follow the Politburo’s decrees, resolutions andconclusions, including upholding responsibility of leaders for the discoveryand strict punishment of violations.
