Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc onJune 1 sent his message of sympathy to his Sri Lankan counterpart RanilWickremesinghe over the serious losses in human lives and property caused byrecent floods and landslides in the country. Severe rains and strong winds since May 26 have caused major floods andlandslides in many areas of Sri Lanka. The death toll has surpassed 200 while almost100 people are still missing, and over 600,000 people have been affected.-VNA
Vietnam and Sri Lanka have friendly political relations. Economic and trade ties between the two countries have been constantly tightened and developed.
