Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam left for 🅷Indonesia on February 25 to prepare for the first round of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceni💖a Zone Group II matches.
Captain Truong Quoc Bao will lead Ly Hoang Nam, Nguyen Hoang Thien, Pham Minh Tuan and Vu Artem in the tournament.
The matches will be held from March 4 to 6 at the Gelora Manahan Tennis Stadium Complex in Surakarta.
The teams have crossed paths only once before, with the Vietnamese winning way back in 1970.
Indonesia won one tie in 2015, but couldn't advance to the promotion play-off after losing to Pakistan in July.
Vietnam were promoted from Group III in March, after suffering relegation from Group II the year before.-VNA
Vietnam defeated Turkmenistan 3-0 in the opening match of Group B in the Davis Cup’s Group Three Asia/Ocean Zone in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 25.
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
