It is responsible for gathering opinions andsuggestions from various agencies to formulate a plan on nationalreconciliation and reform, Banpot said.

The committee, supervisedby the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence, includesrepresentatives of relevant government agencies, he revealed.

Aworking group for reform preparations directly under the committee hasalso been set up, the spokesman said, adding it is designed to compilereform proposals from diversified sources, including political parties,academics and the general public.

According to the government’sroadmap, it could take at least one year to complete the reconciliationand reform process before a general election can be held.-VNA
