Bangkok (VNA) – Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha will pay an officialvisit to the Kingdom of Bahrain on April 24-26, aiming to deepen economic andtrade relations between the two countries.

The visitis made at the invitation of his Bahrain counterpart, Khalifa bin Salma AlKhalifa, the Government of Thailand announced on April 12.

The twoprime ministers plan to chalk out measures to remove barriers in theirbilateral trade and investment. The Thai Ministry of Commerce will proposeBahrain to consider importing halal food into the country and open doors tomedical tourism service providers from Thailand.

Thailand,in return, will support Bahrain’s imports of energy and bridge the Persian Gulfnation with ASEAN countries and the bloc’s partners like Australia, NewZealand, China, India, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

Bahrainwill play a similar role to help Thailand make inroads into South African,South Asian and Central Asian markets.-VNA
