Thailand boosts exports to ASEAN countries

Thailand held the "Thongfah AEC Fair 2015" in the northeastern province of Mukdahan on October 7-11 to promote domestic sales and exports of its products once the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is formed by the end of this year.
According to the Department of Internal Trade (DIT) under the Thai Ministry of Commerce, the event, themed "Moving Quality and Affordable Thai products to the ASEAN markets," featured more than 300 booths offering numerous kinds of products, including quality goods at discounted prices from the Blue Flag campaign, processed agricultural products as well as specialties of Mukdahan and nearby provinces. At the fair, local businessmen had an opportunity to meet with 50 entrepreneurs from Laos. Especially, a business consulting service was offered to individuals who plan to do business in the ASEAN member nations. Officials from the DIT said that Thailand needs to have more investments in and business cooperation with other ASEAN member countries when the AEC is established.-VNA
