Bangkok (VNA) –🧜Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce has bolstered rice exports to Hong Kong (China)and invited rice importers from Hong Kong to discuss the import of Thai rice inthe coming time, reported Thai media on November 1.

A delegation of 37 majorbusinesses led by the Chairman of the Rice Merchants’ Association of Hong Kongarrived in Thailand last weekend to discuss rice markets. The delegation held workingsessions with about 100 rice producers of Thailand from October 30 to November2. Nearly 760 companies areexpected to sign memorandum of understanding on buying 14,000 tonnes of jasminerice, brown rice, organic rice and riceberry rice from Thailand. Hong Kong is among majorrice export markets of Thailand, with Thai rice accounting for 70 percent of themarket share.-VNA
