Bangkok (VNA)🍃 - Flooding continued in five southern provinces of Thailand, affecting at least 128,000 families, the country’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported on December 16.

Director-General Pasakorn Boonyalak said 1,998 villages in Chumphon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Ranong, and Surat Thani provinces reported flooding, and 128,035 households were in trouble.
The water levels were declining in Chumphon, Phatthalung, and Ranong, but rising in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Surat Thani. It is reported that the flooding killed eight people in the five provinces So far this southern wet season, flooding has struck 11 provinces, killed 35 people in total, and affected 737,091 households, Pasakorn added./.
