– Around 350,000 Thais have lined the streets of Bangkok to pay theirlast respects to their late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on October 26.

Vice President Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thinh on behalf of the State of Vietnam is attendingthe royal cremation together with over 40 other royal and governmentalrepresentatives.

After the merit-making ceremony at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall on October25, the king's body was transported to Sanam Luang by the royal chariot led byPrime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha.

Thelate king will be cremated in a royal pyre to be lit by his son, King MahaVajiralongkorn at 22:00 local time the same day.

Former King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the world's longest-reigning monarch was knownfor his kindness and a symbol of national solidarity.

He died on October 13, 2016. The country mourned him for more than oneyear.-VNA
